Princeton Elementary School Reviews

Fabulous school. We were districted for Lake Silver but put our names in lottery when our son was in kindergarten. He is now in 4th grade - every teacher has been outstanding from kindergarten through third grade and we look forward to a great 4th grade year. Lots of hands on science activities, creative, nurturing teachers. Each teacher sends home a weekly newsletter with pictures of week's activities. Strong teacher communication - strong parent involvement.

I love Princeton! The teachers are wonderful. They truely care about the education of my child. If you get a chance, go to Princeton's science night. You will see how exciting education can be when done right.

my chid enjoys princeton elementray school very much

Princeton Elementary is a fabulous school. We are zoned for Lake Silver but were able to get into Princeton through the Science magnet program. The historic building has been renovated and the resources are excellent. The new principal is FABULOUS! After one year of service, she has made so many positive changes. Her teachers & staff love her and she is very popular with the parents. Ms Grove is an attentive listener and very proactive when it comes to making a decision. She brings a positive energy to the school. I highly recommend Princeton Elementary. Also, the PTA is very active, as well as SAC.

Princeton is fantastic and the teachers are dedicated. I highly recommend it!

My daughter attended Prineton as a magnet student in the first grade. After visiting the school two seperate times, I felt Princeton would be a great school for my daughter. I was wrong. There were disciplinary problems not being taken care of, classrooms out of control and and no real concequece for the actions of the children with bad behavior. In my opinion, the administration needs to take a close look in the mirror. Starting with the principle.

Academic programs are quite good, and are taught by a number of veteran teachers. The principal is highly involved and provides outstanding leadership. Communication with parents is frequent and effective. The PTA is very active; this truly is a 'neighborhood school' with a strong sense of community. On the downside: class sizes in some grades are much too large. The PE program is limited by the small size of the grounds, most of which have been taken up by portable classrooms. A new community center complex is under construction on the grounds, which will provide gym and pool access. Overall, we have been pleased with the progress our two kids have made, and recommend Princeton to others.

I was very excited to enroll my son in Princeton as part of their magnet program. The school is very quaint and smaller than the average school. I have been very disapointed in the overall tone of the school which is very authoritarian and, quite frankly, mean spirited. The children 'should be seen and not heard mentality' that imposes authority rather than garnering buy in. I have given the school the benefit of the doubt for 2 years and have finally pulled my child from the school.

I think Princeton elementary is a great school because the teachers are willing to go the extra mile to make sure all the students are learning at the level they should be.

I think Princeton is an overall good school. I would like to see the Principal communicate more with parents when a problem is presented. I also would like to see rewards/awards given to children that excel or are making improvements.

The Good: This school has an excellent academic program. All the children are genuinely excited about learning. The music teacher goes above and beyond to provide year round chorus, instruments, holiday programs for all students, and year end talent show. The principal is a strong leader and has taken this school from rock-bottom to an ace-contender. Fabulous Media Center with Summer Reading access. PTA is a strong presence holding wonderful events and beneficial programs throughout the year. Strong community partnerships as well. Very open to parents, very friendly. The bad: Currently classrooms are above capacity. What you see on stats is low compared to actual class size. Chaotic dismissal practices. Old building with old building problems. Would love to see it restored. Understaffed, leading to lack of supervision in cafeteria and commons. Lots of bullies, rough children.

My daughter has attended Princeton for 3 years and we love it. Teachers are dedicated and leadership excels for excellence from Teachers as well as students.

Princeton has been an excellent choice for our son. He has had a wonderful Kindergarten year. We couldn't have asked for more! The teachers are dedicated and caring. The leadership and committment shown by the Pricipal are evident throughout the school. She's involved in all activities, and on rainy mornings, you can usually find her at carline ushering the children into school! As a new parent, I felt embraced by the PTA, as they welcomed new ideas and suggestions. The science magnet only adds to what is already a great educational experience. In all, it's a warm, caring and safe environment where our children can not only learn, but also thrive!

If they told me tomorrow I had to pay for my child to go to Princeton, I would find a way. It's that good.
